More Information
We all have a conscious and sub conscious part to our minds and these work together on a daily basis to enable us to go on going on!

CONSCIOUS MIND
This part of the mind is the more logical, decision maker. We generally use it to perform the one task we are about in any given moment (some would say more of course, if you are female!) This part of our mind uses rational processes of deduction, such as, if I lift up that hot pan without a cloth I will burn my fingers, or, if I get this letter written I will have time to get to that meeting. It also uses willpower, the ability to carry through a conscious decision because we want to. You spend most, but not all, of your waking day using the conscious mind.
SUBCONSCIOUS MIND
This part of your mind is much bigger and contains your emotions, memories, dreams and imagination. You may drift into this part of your mind when day dreaming about some past event, or imagining some future one, such as a good holiday or the moment you win the lottery. Because of it's larger function the subconscious mind can learn and remember repetitive tasks, such as driving an often repeated journey, or even the fact that you enjoy smoking or having two biscuit bars with every cup of coffee. These habits are learned by the subconscious, which can then take over control of them, allowing the conscious mind to get on with other things, even when they are not really to our benefit.
